Write & Shine: Vanessa Bell and the Bloomsbury Group
Start your day with a burst of creativity!
Join Write & Shine bright and early, live from The London Library for a 90-minute virtual writing workshop that takes the work and ideas of Vanessa Bell and the Bloomsbury Group as inspiration.
Artist and interior designer Vanessa Bell had a lifelong association with the Library, beginning in 1892 when her father Leslie Stephen was elected President. In this session, we’ll explore Bell’s ideas, paintings and her life in Charleston with Clive Bell, Duncan Grant and other members of the Bloomsbury Group – including Virginia Woolf – all of whom cared deeply about creativity and the arts.
This is the first in a year-long series of morning writing workshops, led by author Gemma Seltzer , celebrating the friendships, societies and creative communities that found inspiration at The London Library. This workshop takes place in the early morning light – the best time to think, dream and imagine! You won’t be expected to share your writing, which offers great freedom and encourages all kinds of fascinating ideas to emerge.
Login at 7.30am for 7.45am start. You will be sent a Zoom link a few days before the workshop (if you do not receive it, please check your junk file or email events@londonlibrary.co.uk).
