DRAWING NATURE: Tree Details w/Colored Pencil ONLINE: Jan.11,18, 25, Feb.1
You can be a beginner or experienced artist to enjoy this class! In this class we will observe and draw some of the most overlooked elements of trees. Students will receive tips and techniques for drawing the nuts, berries, buds, bark and flowers of common trees. We will also learn techniques for creating a variety of textures on paper. Focusing on the small elements is one way to create informative and interesting nature sketchbooks and/or do something different composition wise in a larger art work. We will finish by using colored pencils and colored paper to create a couple finished nature drawings.
Materials: Bring a 9”x12” spiral bound sketchbook, a small pad (9”x12”) of colored drawing paper (Canson Mi-Teintes paper is recommended but not necessary), set of at least 12 colored pencils including a white and at least one light grey color, a couple gray tones would be good for variety of color options, set of graphite pencils, white eraser, sharpener.
