6-week Virtual Art Psychotherapy Group for Self Care & Self Development

Join us for this Art Therapy for Self Care & Self Development group and commit to creative healing.
This course is designed for any creative and non-artists alike. It is about creativity and self-care, using art as a way to process thoughts, circumstances, and emotions. Open to all levels of therapy experience.
Have a meaningful start to 2023 and set yourself up for an intentionally grounded year!

– 1.5 hour Art Therapy workshops every week for 6 weeks
– Mindfulness practice and skills development
– Emotional regulation: Learning to sit with emotions
– Self empowerment practices
– Challenging negative thoughts and beliefs
– Incorporates body connection
– Meaningful group discussions
– Inner child work with exercises
– Advance the relationship with self through healing exercises

1-2 types of art making tools. This can be just a pen with paper to keep it simple, but you’re welcome to bring colouring pencils, markers, paints or even a digital tablet.
Journaling will be involved , so if you have a physical journal bring it with something to write with, or you can use your phone or laptop for journal entries.
Please use a computer or latpop for the workshop, with it facing you and/or your art making, where possible. Use a desk with some space for this setup and some materials to work with beside you.

Time: 1.5 hours of your time, every week for 6 weeks
Cost: £170 (approx. $340NZD) + Eventbrite fees

Week 2 – Negative Beliefs and Corrupting Thoughts
Week 3 – Mindfulness and Sitting with Emotions
Week 4 – Inner Child Work
Week 5 – Affirmations, Self empowerment & Self compassion
Week 6 – Cultivating the ‘Ideal Self’

You will be have access to a meeting link via your Eventbrite booking. You are welcome to test the link 5-10 minutes beforehand.
If you have not received any meeting link close to workshop starting, check your Eventbrite ticket first, and then get in touch if not there.
Please test your desk setup, laptop and materials beforehand.
This workshop will not be recorded, recording and screenshots are not permitted.
You can cancel up to 24-hrs prior. Late cancellations or exiting during the course, will not qualify for a refund.

Kia ora, my name is Tanisha. I identify as a racialized Black female of Caribbean and European heritage.
Originally from the UK, where I originally trained in Art Psychotherapy, to currently living in New Zealand, I work with a large range of individuals from Maori, Pasifika, East Asian, African, Caribbean, South Asian and pakeha clients in-person and online.
I pride myself in providing future-thinking, innovative methods for delivering therapy that meet the client’s needs and capabilities , such Therapy via Email, Live Messaging and Recordings.
I also facilitate workshops and groups with clients from all over the world, most of whom are in need of a therapist-of-colour that can offer a safe, creative and comfortable space to explore issues around race, sexuality and cultural identity.
The ongoing needs of our communities, continued Mental Health equity advocacy and my own personal POC & MH experiences are the reasons I curate these accessible, educational events, courses and workshops.
