Zoom pastel workshop with Rebecca de Mendonça, 'A Walk in the Woods'

Join us for a live pastel workshop painting the magical light in a woodland in early Spring. With lots of mark-making techniques for landscapes, including trees and grasses, and also how to build soft pastel layers to create hazy sunlight. We will look easy tips for drawing and painting figures in your landscapes.
A recording of the workshop will be available afterwards for those who have registered for the event.
This demo will also include tips on how to simplify your reference photograph, and how you can just focus on the important elements of the scene, rather than painting everything you can see.You will have access to a detailed list of materials, photographs for reference, and a drawing to help you get started.
You can see my colour chart and list of soft pastels, although you do not need to have these exact colours. We will work on a mid-tone or dark-tone grey or neutral pastel paper or surface.This is a workshop to suit all abilities, but some experience of drawing will help.
How the session works;
I will be demonstrating in my studio, and my ever-patient husband André will be hosting the zoom session. You can ask questions during the demonstration, using the ‘chat’, and I can answer questions at the end, face to face.
A recording of the session will be available after the workshop if you have registered for the event.
