Virtual Vincent van Gogh Art Tour with Rebecca Howland
Take a two-hour virtual tour of Vincent van Gogh’s Life and artistic expression. The artist worked only for a decade (1880 to 1890), but his prolific genius produced thousands of artworks and mastered new techniques – unmistakably Van Gogh. On this art tour explore his biography and seminal paintings, drawings, letters. Additionally, you will investigate his tumultuous collaborations with other noteworthy Post-Impressionists and Impressionists.
You begin your journey by exploring his early life (before he became an Artist), and how his vocational experiences left an indelible mark upon his work.
Upon his residency in Paris, and Arles you will weigh-in on the different theories from Art Historians about Van Gogh’s battle with health and mental health issues. We will explore the new therapeutic interventions he received (in retrospect, an aspect of the then burgeoning field of what constitutes modern Art Therapy).
As you conclude your experience, we discuss his untimely passing, you will reflect upon the impact of Van Gogh’s iconic legacy.
My name is Rebecca Howland and I graduated from California State University of Bakersfield with my bachelor’s in art history and graduated from California State University of Northridge with my master’s in history. I am currently residing in the greater Houston area working as an educational program developer at the Pearl Fincher Museum of Fine Arts.
