PRESENTING YOUR BEST SELF : ARTIST STMTS, BIOS, AND CV’S with Islay Taylor

Artists and makers are skilled communicators who use objects or experiences to evoke and educate. While the act of making art may feel natural, intuitive, and easy; writing about the work (or the artist behind the work) may seem like a daunting challenge at times. This workshop will focus on reframing and demystifying the writing process – thinking about it as part of the creative process. We will address Artist Bios, Artist Statements, and Curriculum Vitaes.
Fostering creative and economic development, The Steel Yard is excited to host a series of professional development workshops for artists of all disciplines to strengthen their creative, financial and business capacity. Facilitated by creative professionals with proven experience in their field, these are Informal and frank conversations with working artists around hot button topics. All workshops are free and open to the public.
